This Week | July 7 – 13, 2023
July 9 | Weathering Life’s Storms – Chris Clark
Synopsis: Each of us are currently in one of three stages in life. We are either: 1) in the middle of a life storm; 2) just coming out of a life storm; or 3) about to enter into a life storm. It is not a question of if we will experience a life storm; it is a question of how severe the storm is; how long the storm will endure; and how that life storm will affect us. In Luke 8:22-25, the Lord Jesus and His disciples experience a literal storm on the lake; what happened in that storm serves as a valuable lesson for us today as we seek to weather the storms that enter into our own lives.
Fighter Verse: Luke 8:25 – “He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”

All Lakes Women are welcome and encouraged to attend our Chat-a-latte from 9:30-11:30am in the atrium. Bring a friend, and come relax, drink coffee (or tea), enjoy one another’s company, and get to know some new people!
VBS 2023 | JULY 17-20
It’s happening!!! VBS 2023 is almost here! This year, we’ll be celebrating all kinds of games. From classic tabletop games to strategy games to video games and more, children will play their way through our week of VBS! But more importantly, they’ll see Jesus through the eyes of one of His closest friends and discover that trusting Jesus as Savior and following Him changes the game entirely!
Here are the details:
Monday, July 17th, through Thursday, July 20th
Nightly from 5:15pm to 8:45pm
Open to all children age 4 through 5th Grade (grade entering in the Fall of 2023)
HOPE FOR PARENTS OF PRODIGALS | JULY 22
LAKES FAMILY CAMPOUT | JULY 21-23
This is our annual church family outing to Somerset Beach Campground! Bring your camper or tent and camping gear for this fun weekend at the lake. Play on the beach, hike, swim, play volleyball or softball, sit around the bonfire, or just relax with friends. The cost for the campsite is $95 for the weekend, and food for the potluck/ice cream social is $12 per person (ages 6 and over). REGISTER HERE to reserve your campsite now!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Our last four weeks of lessons have all been about who God is. Ultimately, we’ve learned that God is holy. And we, as God’s image bearers, are to imitate God. We’ve shared that this is an impossible standard, but this week we’ll encourage the children to trust in the beauty of the gospel and what it means for us to model God’s holiness to the world around us!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:30 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during The 9:30 and 11:30 services and Tuesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

Registration is open for VBS, July 17-20, 2023!
THURSDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service.
MONDAY HIGH SCHOOL GROW GROUPS – Grow Groups meet weekly on Mondays at Josh and Cassie’s house in Clarkston. Please email Josh if you are interested in attending! josh.broyles@thelakescc.org
