WHAT ARE WE ALL ABOUT AT THE LAKES?
Our MISSION:
To Know Christ and to Make Him Known (Matthew 28:18-20 and Luke 19:10).
This is our mission and fuels everything we do. It is simply to make disciples of Jesus and comes right from Matthew 28:19-20 and Luke 19:10. Our passion is to see you trust and love God, grow in Christ, and impact the world for Christ.
Our CORE VALUES
what makes us distinct and also guide what we do:

The Bible
WE BELIEVE THE BIBLE IS THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD AND THAT MEN WERE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT TO WRITE THE WORDS OF SCRIPTURE; GOD BEING THE AUTHOR OF IT. WE BELIEVE THAT THE BIBLE IS WITHOUT ERROR AND IS THE PRIMARY AND ULTIMATE BASIS FOR LIFE AND GODLINESS. WE DO NOT ADD OR TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM THE BIBLE OR WHAT IT TEACHES.

The Trinity
WE BELIEVE IN ONE ETERNAL, LIVING AND TRUE GOD WHO EXISTS IN THREE PERSONS (FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT), EQUAL IN PERFECTION AND DISTINCT IN PERSONS. JESUS CHRIST IS THE SECOND MEMBER OF THE TRINITY (THE SON OF GOD) WHO CAME TO THIS WORLD IN THE FORM OF A HUMAN BEING TO REVEAL GOD TO MAN AND TO BE THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD.

Mankind
WE BELIEVE THAT MAN WAS CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD, MALE AND FEMALE, TO HAVE A LOVING RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM, GIVING ALL PEOPLE DIGNITY AND WORTH BUT BECAME ALIENATED FROM GOD THROUGH SINFUL DISOBEDIENCE BY THEIR OWN WILL. AS A RESULT, MAN IS INCAPABLE OF RECONCILIATION WITH GOD THROUGH HIS OWN EFFORTS.

Salvation
WE BELIEVE THAT SALVATION IS ONLY FOUND BY THE GRACE OF GOD THROUGH THE LIFE, DEATH, AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST. WE BELIEVE THAT THE GOSPEL (GOOD NEWS) OF JESUS DEATH ON OUR BEHALF AND THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST SHED ON THE CROSS PROVIDES THE ONLY BASIS FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. SALVATION, AND THEREBY RECONCILIATION WITH GOD, ONLY OCCURS WHEN A PERSON PLACES HIS FAITH IN THE DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST. FOR THERE IS ONE GOD AND ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MEN, THE SON OF GOD AND MAN CHRIST JESUS. SALVATION IS A GIFT THAT WE DO NOT ADD ANYTHING TO BUT FREELY RECEIVE IT BY FAITH.

Christianity and Following Jesus
WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY CHRISTIAN SHOULD LIVE FOR CHRIST AND NOT FOR HIMSELF, DEMONSTRATING THEY ARE HIS DISCIPLES BY FOLLOWING JESUS, LOVING ONE ANOTHER. BY OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD AND DAILY YIELDING TO THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, EVERY BELIEVER WILL MATURE AND BECOME MORE LIKE CHRIST(SANCTIFICATION), SECURE IN HIS SALVATION (JUSTIFICATION).

The Church
WE BELIEVE THAT THE CHURCH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST OF WHICH JESUS CHRIST IS THE HEAD. ITS MEMBERS ARE THOSE WHO BY FAITH HAVE TRUSTED IN THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST. THE PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH IS TO GLORIFY GOD BY LOVING HIM, DISPLAYING HIS CHARACTER, AND MATURING AND EQUIPPING THE SAINTS TO GO INTO ALL THE WORLD TO PROCLAIM HIS GOSPEL, TO MAKE DISCIPLES, AND TO BAPTIZE PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. WE BELIEVE THAT THE CHURCH IS LED BY A PLURALITY OF ELDERS, CALLED BY GOD AND QUALIFIED BY THE SCRIPTURES.

Spiritual Gifts
WE BELIEVE IN THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT AS THEY ARE TAUGHT AND PROCLAIMED IN THE BIBLE. WE BELIEVE THAT ALL BELIEVERS IN JESUS ARE SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND ARE GIVEN SPIRITUAL GIFTS. WE BELIEVE IN SPIRIT-LED LIVING, THAT ALL CHRISTIANS ARE INDWELT BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND ARE TO BE CONTINUALLY COUNSELED AND GUIDED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT. BUT THE PRACTICE OF EXERCISING OUR SPIRITUAL GIFT(S) IS NOT TO BE AN END IN ITSELF BUT TO BE UTILIZED TO BUILD UP CHRIST’S CHURCH AND EXTEND HIS KINGDOM, EMPOWERING US TO ACCOMPLISH GOD’S PURPOSES. WE BELIEVE THAT ALL THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT ARE ACTIVE IN CHRIST’S CHURCH AND USED IN RIGHT ORDER AND THE OFFICE OF APOSTLESHIP HAS CEASED.

The Last Days
WE BELIEVE IN THE LITERAL 2ND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST WHERE HE WILL DESCEND FROM HEAVEN, AND RAISE ALL THE DEAD. THEY SHALL BE RAISED FROM THE GRAVE FOR JUDGMENT AND GIVE AN ACCOUNT OF THEMSELVES TO THE LIVING GOD IN WHICH THE WICKED WILL BE APART FROM GOD FOREVER IN JUDGEMENT IN HELL AND THE RIGHTEOUS (SOLELY BECAUSE OF JESUS) WILL BE WITH GOD IN HEAVEN WITH ENDLESS JOY FOREVER.
