To Know Christ and to Make Christ Known
Many people do not understand Jesus or Christianity. We want to make sure that you know exactly who Jesus is and what He came to do. He came to bring to us the Good News – the gospel. The Good News is that we are so lost, sinful and broken that we cannot get to God or fix ourselves, so God came to find and save us. Every other religion is about what you do to get to God. Christianity is totally different. It is about what God did to get to us!
Exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator
Romans 1:25
You were created by God to know Him and worship Him and enjoy Him forever. Instead of doing that we “exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator” (Romans 1:25). We are apart from God because of our sin.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23
Every single person has fallen short. We have done this with our actions, words, and even our thoughts. If God gave us what we deserved we would be separated from Him forever.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
And the good news (the best news) is that instead of giving us death, Jesus died in our place!
God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
This is the uniqueness of Jesus. It’s not what we do for God but what God did for us. He exchanged Himself on the cross in order to bring us back to God. Jesus lived perfectly because we could not. He willingly took our place, because of His incredible love, while we were still rebellious and sinful. And that is not all, Jesus rose from dead. He defeated death through His resurrection and is alive right now. He offers the free gift of eternal life and forgiveness to all who receive Him by faith.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
You do not earn God’s forgiveness or love but it is a free gift. The only thing that you need, is need. You have to see your need for a Savior. Instead of giving us what we deserve, which is separation from Him forever in hell, He gives us new life through Jesus. It is out of His sheer mercy, grace, and love. All we have to do is receive it by faith and turn to Jesus as Lord.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
God gives us the greatest gift. It‘s not because we are good enough or do enough. It’s only because of His grace. All you have to do is receive it!
