June 7 | 1 John, Without a Shadow of a Doubt – Part 17: Eternal Life in Jesus Alone, 1 John 5:6-12 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: Sometimes people claim that all paths or roads lead to God. They say that different religions all believe pretty much the same thing. There are many problems with that belief but the main one is that it is simply false and a lie. The Lord is clear that there are not many paths to Him. There is a one way, a narrow way and exclusive way, through Jesus alone. John makes this bold statement in 1 John 5:12, “whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” This Sunday, we are going to look at eternal life being found in Jesus alone and the assurance we can have of that. When we know Christ, we also want to make Him known and share the good news with others.
Fighter Verse: 1 John 5:12 – Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Our Outreach Ministry is organizing a Senior Dinner event in partnership with Open Door Outreach. Residents within our community are invited to enjoy dinner, games, and a fun afternoon connecting with neighbors and The Lakes Church family.
Three location service opportunities:
– Whispering Woods Community Center
– American Inn and Suites Lobby (7076 Highland Rd, Waterford, 48327)
– Lakeland Place (2700 Elizabeth Lake Rd, Waterford, 48328)
We’re looking for volunteers to help serve, connect, and make the afternoon extra special. You can sign up through the SignUpGenius link or email outreach@thelakescc.org with any questions.
BAPTISM | JUNE 14
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!
VBS | 7/20-23
This summer’s Vacation Bible School at The Lakes Church will be about bringing hope to an anxious generation, as kids learn about the life of David while answering the question, “Is there a God who cares?” Come check out all the fun teachings, crafts, music, games, and more!
Monday, July 20th through Thursday, July 23rd | 6:00pm to 8:30pm nightly.
This event is open to any child Age 4 (must be 4 by 7/20/2026) through entering 5th Grade in the Fall of 2026.
FAMILY CAMPOUT | 7/24-26
Get ready for one of our favorite traditions of the year—our 15th Annual Church Family Outing at Somerset Beach Campground! This is more than just a weekend away—it’s a chance to unplug, recharge, and connect with friends and family in a beautiful lakeside setting.
Whether you’re bringing a camper or pitching a tent, there’s something for everyone:
– Soak up the sun on the beach
– Take a refreshing swim in the lake
– Zipline for a little adventure
– Jump into volleyball, pickleball, or cornhole games
– Wind down with bonfires and great conversations
– Enjoy a classic wagon ride
Or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings
Cost: $68 per campsite (covers both nights)

God sought out Saul for the work of His kingdom, despite the hostility and malice he previously had toward the Christian church. Nothing in Saul’s story was too big for God to forgive! God has the power to transform the hearts and lives of anyone who places their faith in Him.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church. – On break until fall

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
