June 28 | Without a Shadow of a Doubt – Part 20: Faithful, Flawed, and Fruitful, 3 John – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: 3 John is the shortest book in the New Testament. It is often overlooked and underappreciated. Yet, it is filled with great truths for our spiritual and relational lives. The focus is on three individuals and the church as a whole embracing the truth and living at peace with others. One person was faithful, one was flawed and the last one was fruitful. We see that the Lord desires us to love, embrace, and walk in the truth. We also see that conflict happens when we do not keep Christ first. When people become big and God becomes small, many problems happen. This morning, we are going to look at how to navigate walking in the truth and being fruitful in our lives.
Fighter Verse: 3 John 1:11 – Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.

WORSHIP NIGHT | JULY 2
Join us in a couple of weeks for a Worship Night for a meaningful time to come together as a church family and praise God for all that He is doing in our church and throughout our community. July 2 at 7pm right in the worship center—we hope to see you there!
40 DAYS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT | JULY 6
Join us for 40 Days in the New Testament—an opportunity to grow in your faith through a simple, daily commitment to God’s Word. Before you read each day, take a moment to pray and ask God to open your heart. Stay consistent, and don’t give up—if you miss a day, just jump back in and keep going. You can even download a free Bible app like YouVersion to listen on the go. Pick up a bookmark at church to keep track of your reading.
VBS | 7/20-23
This summer’s Vacation Bible School at The Lakes Church will be about bringing hope to an anxious generation, as kids learn about the life of David while answering the question, “Is there a God who cares?” Come check out all the fun teachings, crafts, music, games, and more!
Monday, July 20th through Thursday, July 23rd | 6:00pm to 8:30pm nightly.
This event is open to any child Age 4 (must be 4 by 7/20/2026) through entering 5th Grade in the Fall of 2026.
FAMILY CAMPOUT | 7/24-26
Get ready for one of our favorite traditions of the year—our 15th Annual Church Family Outing at Somerset Beach Campground! This is more than just a weekend away—it’s a chance to unplug, recharge, and connect with friends and family in a beautiful lakeside setting.
Whether you’re bringing a camper or pitching a tent, there’s something for everyone:

– Take a refreshing swim in the lake

SUMMER FEST | 8/16
Save-the-date and invite your neighbors, friends, and family to this special outdoor Service in the park at Multi-Lakes Conservation Assoc. (3860 Newton Rd, Commerce Charter Twp, MI 48382) on Sunday, August 16th at 10am. Join us for this exciting morning of Worship & Message, followed by a picnic and an afternoon of fun treats and activities for the the whole family!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Big Lesson This Week! As Paul and Barnabas began seeing both Jew and Gentile lives changed by the gospel, two big questions (that people still ask today) came up: 1.) How exactly are people saved from their sins? and; 2.) aren’t works an important part of our lives as believers? We’ll answer both this Sunday!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church. – On break until fall

Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.

OUR WEEKLY SERVICE is centered around music, prayer, Bible stories and simple life lessons. All ages and abilities are welcome to come and be free to be themselves while actively participating as a contributing member of an inclusive and loving faith community at The Lakes Church.
