June 21 | Without a Shadow of a Doubt – Part 19: Watch Yourself, 2 John – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: The book of 2 John is a very brief and short letter. It is written to help us remain in the truth and walk in love. There are many minefields to traverse in our walk with God. One of those is drifting from the truth of Jesus. John reminds us to “watch yourselves,” and not believe everything you hear. There are external and internal threats. We need to be on guard against false teachings and lies that try to derail our walk with the Lord. Also, we need to guard our hearts from lacking love. We do not have to feel inadequate or afraid, as we will see that the Lord has given us everything we need for life and godliness in Christ.
Fighter Verse: 2 John 1:8 – Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.

What’s Happening?
WORSHIP NIGHT | JULY 2
Join us in a couple of weeks for a Worship Night for a meaningful time to come together as a church family and praise God for all that He is doing in our church and throughout our community. July 2 at 7pm right in the worship center—we hope to see you there!
VBS | 7/20-23
This summer’s Vacation Bible School at The Lakes Church will be about bringing hope to an anxious generation, as kids learn about the life of David while answering the question, “Is there a God who cares?” Come check out all the fun teachings, crafts, music, games, and more!
Monday, July 20th through Thursday, July 23rd | 6:00pm to 8:30pm nightly.
This event is open to any child Age 4 (must be 4 by 7/20/2026) through entering 5th Grade in the Fall of 2026.
FAMILY CAMPOUT | 7/24-26
Get ready for one of our favorite traditions of the year—our 15th Annual Church Family Outing at Somerset Beach Campground! This is more than just a weekend away—it’s a chance to unplug, recharge, and connect with friends and family in a beautiful lakeside setting.
Whether you’re bringing a camper or pitching a tent, there’s something for everyone:
– Soak up the sun on the beach
– Take a refreshing swim in the lake
– Zipline for a little adventure
– Jump into volleyball, pickleball, or cornhole games
– Wind down with bonfires and great conversations
– Enjoy a classic wagon ride
Or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings
Cost: $68 per campsite (covers both nights)

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
One theme Paul wrote about in the book of 2 Corinthians is the forgiveness of God through Jesus Christ. Paul encouraged the Corinthians to live as forgiven people who are compelled by the love of Christ to share the gospel with others – no longer living for themselves, but living that others could know the same forgiveness that they had received.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church. – On break until fall

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.

OUR WEEKLY SERVICE is centered around music, prayer, Bible stories and simple life lessons. All ages and abilities are welcome to come and be free to be themselves while actively participating as a contributing member of an inclusive and loving faith community at The Lakes Church.
