July 5 | Summer at The Lakes – Step Up, Galatians 5:16-18 – Pastor Chris Clark
Synopsis: As disciples of Jesus, we want to live for Christ. We want to know Him and make Him known. But how? Jesus tells us to take His yoke upon ourselves and learn from Him; He tells us to abide and stay with Him. Paul tells us in Galatians 5:16-18 to walk in submission to the Holy Spirit. What is involved with such a lifestyle? We will identify those things as we look in Galatians 5:16-18 in our pursuit to Step Up and walk under the control of the Holy Spirit.
Fighter Verse: Galatians 5:16 – But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

40 DAYS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT | JULY 6
Join us for 40 Days in the New Testament—an opportunity to grow in your faith through a simple, daily commitment to God’s Word. Before you read each day, take a moment to pray and ask God to open your heart. Stay consistent, and don’t give up—if you miss a day, just jump back in and keep going. You can even download a free Bible app like YouVersion to listen on the go. Pick up a bookmark at church to keep track of your reading.
VBS | 7/20-23
This summer’s Vacation Bible School at The Lakes Church will be about bringing hope to an anxious generation, as kids learn about the life of David while answering the question, “Is there a God who cares?” Come check out all the fun teachings, crafts, music, games, and more!
Monday, July 20th through Thursday, July 23rd | 6:00pm to 8:30pm nightly.
This event is open to any child Age 4 (must be 4 by 7/20/2026) through entering 5th Grade in the Fall of 2026.
FAMILY CAMPOUT | 7/24-26
Get ready for one of our favorite traditions of the year—our 15th Annual Church Family Outing at Somerset Beach Campground! This is more than just a weekend away—it’s a chance to unplug, recharge, and connect with friends and family in a beautiful lakeside setting.
Whether you’re bringing a camper or pitching a tent, there’s something for everyone:
– Soak up the sun on the beach
– Take a refreshing swim in the lake
– Zipline for a little adventure
– Jump into volleyball, pickleball, or cornhole games
– Wind down with bonfires and great conversations
– Enjoy a classic wagon ride
Or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings
Cost: $68 per campsite (covers both nights)

SUMMER FEST | 8/16
Save-the-date and invite your neighbors, friends, and family to this special outdoor Service in the park at Multi-Lakes Conservation Assoc. (3860 Newton Rd, Commerce Charter Twp, MI 48382) on Sunday, August 16th at 10am. Join us for this exciting morning of Worship & Message, followed by a picnic and an afternoon of fun treats and activities for the the whole family!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church. – On break until fall

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.

OUR WEEKLY SERVICE is centered around music, prayer, Bible stories and simple life lessons. All ages and abilities are welcome to come and be free to be themselves while actively participating as a contributing member of an inclusive and loving faith community at The Lakes Church.
Monthly Prayer | Lakes Women meet for prayer the first Saturday of each month from 9:30am to 10:30am!
Quarterly “Chat-a-latte” gathering | Coffee/Tea & fellowship in the lower level Atrium
