June 18 | Mission and Values – Part 3: Unified as God’s Family and Live to Serve – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: As we continue our series through The Lakes Mission and how we accomplish that, we are looking at two of our Core Values. First, what it means to be Unified as God’s Family. The Lord deeply cares about unity. One of Jesus’ last prayers is that His people (the church) would be one and undivided. God desires that we would love one another and “wrestle” to maintain unity. The second Core Value we are examining is what it means to be Living to Serve. Jesus showed us the way to greatness is through service. This is so counter-cultural today yet life-giving. These Core Values are incredibly important to grasp and bring into our lives.
Fighter Verse: Mark 10:45 – “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

What’s Happening?
Hope for Parents of Prodigals | June 24
VBS 2023 | JULY 17-20
It’s happening!!! VBS 2023 is almost here! This year, we’ll be celebrating all kinds of games. From classic tabletop games to strategy games to video games and more, children will play their way through our week of VBS! But more importantly, they’ll see Jesus through the eyes of one of His closest friends and discover that trusting Jesus as Savior and following Him changes the game entirely!
Here are the details:
Monday, July 17th, through Thursday, July 20th
Nightly from 5:15pm to 8:45pm
Open to all children age 4 through 5th Grade (grade entering in the Fall of 2023)
LAKES FAMILY CAMPOUT | JULY 21-23
This is our annual church family outing to Somerset Beach Campground! Bring your camper or tent and camping gear for this fun weekend at the lake. Play on the beach, hike, swim, play volleyball or softball, sit around the bonfire, or just relax with friends. The cost for the campsite is $95 for the weekend, and food for the potluck/ice cream social is $12 per person (ages 6 and over). REGISTER HERE to reserve your campsite now!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Happy Father’s Day! Thank you for the important roles so many of you play in the lives of the children at The Lakes!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:30 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during The 9:30 and 11:30 services and Tuesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Registration is open for VBS, July 17-20, 2023!
THURSDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service.
MONDAY HIGH SCHOOL GROW GROUPS – Grow Groups meet weekly on Mondays at Josh and Cassie’s house in Clarkston. Please email Josh if you are interested in attending! josh.broyles@thelakescc.org
