June 11 | Mission and Values – Part 2: Core Values – Gospel Centered and the Power of Prayer – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: The mission of The Lakes is clear – to know Christ and to make Him known. What makes our church different and distinct is our Core Values. Every local church has different values and emphasis’. This is good and brings a uniqueness that glorifies the Lord. This week we are looking at two of our Core Values that shape us. The Lakes is Gospel-centered and believes in the Power of Prayer. These are both incredibly important for us to know and apply to our lives. Everything we do flows from the gospel of Christ and we really(!) believe in the power of prayer.
Fighter Verse: Romans 1:16-17 – “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.””

Cars & Coffee | June 10 at 8:30am
Join us for Cars and Coffee, June 10 from 8:30am -10:30am in the lower parking lot. We hope to see you there!
Baptism Sunday | June 18
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during both services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!
VBS 2023 IS OPEN FOR REGISTRATION! | JULY 17-20
It’s happening!!! VBS 2023 is almost here! This year, we’ll be celebrating all kinds of games. From classic tabletop games to strategy games to video games and more, children will play their way through our week of VBS! But more importantly, they’ll see Jesus through the eyes of one of His closest friends and discover that trusting Jesus as Savior and following Him changes the game entirely!
Here are the details:
Monday, July 17th, through Thursday, July 20th
Nightly from 5:15pm to 8:45pm
Open to all children age 4 through 5th Grade (grade entering in the Fall of 2023)
LAKES FAMILY CAMPOUT | JULY 21-23
This is our annual church family outing to Somerset Beach Campground! Bring your camper or tent and camping gear for this fun weekend at the lake. Play on the beach, hike, swim, play volleyball or softball, sit around the bonfire, or just relax with friends. The cost for the campsite is $95 for the weekend, and food for the potluck/ice cream social is $12 per person (ages 6 and over). REGISTER HERE to reserve your campsite now!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
OK – so, we don’t do many lessons on the Book of Leviticus! In Children’s Ministry, we don’t spend a lot of time focusing on offerings – let alone the specifics on the types of offerings and how they were supposed to be offered. But…we DO spend a lot of time focusing on how God calls us to act upon our faith in Him. This week, the children will be learning all about how offerings accomplished that very same thing for the Israelites!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:30 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during The 9:30 and 11:30 services and Tuesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

THURSDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service.
MONDAY HIGH SCHOOL GROW GROUPS – Grow Groups meet weekly on Mondays at Josh and Cassie’s house in Clarkston. Please email Josh if you are interested in attending! josh.broyles@thelakescc.org
