October 4 | Revelation – The End and the Beginning, Part 4: Going Through the Motions, Revelation 2:1-7 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: We come to a shift in the book of Revelation. Over the next seven weeks, we will be looking at seven churches that Jesus Himself directly addresses. They were real churches dealing with issues that affect our lives today. We start by seeing the church in Ephesus. On the outside, it looked the part. The Lord even commends them for some of the things that they are doing. They had right beliefs, some righteous practices, and they were doing some good works. But, their love for the Lord had grown cold. They were just going through the motions. Jesus uses a strong word and rebuke to tell them that they “abandoned” their first love. It is like when a spouse abandons their marriage. The people of God did not see the condition of their soul that needed to be renewed. The Lord does not correct them to shame them, but to call them back to Himself and restore their souls. He is doing that in our lives right now as well. This morning we are going to look at how to avoid going through the motions and renew our love for Christ.
Fighter Verse: “But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.” – Revelation 2:4-5

BAPTISM | 10/18
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!
MIDDLE SCHOOL CONFERENCE | 10/23-24
Converge is an exciting weekend where middle school youth groups from around the area come together at Ward Church for a weekend packed with fun, community, and faith!
Students will experience worship, engaging sessions, laser tag, escape rooms, inflatables, sports tournaments, and more. It’s a great opportunity for students to connect with other middle schoolers, have a ton of fun, and grow in their faith.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Revelation 5 shows us that no one has been found worthy to break the seal of this great scroll. This somber realization led the apostle to weep…..until his gaze was lifted up to Jesus. John’s vision of heaven in Revelation offers us a glimpse of Jesus’ worthiness and heaven’s splendor, as those found in Him will abide with Him forever.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. Every Tuesday of from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.
