October 11 | Revelation – The End and the Beginning, Part 5: Staying the Course Through Suffering, Revelation 2:8-11 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: Life is hard, but God is good. We come to a church that understood this statement. Their life was hard but they knew the goodness of God. The second church addressed in Revelation is called Smyrna. It was probably small and felt insignificant, looking poor and unimportant. Yet, this church was highly valued in Jesus’ eyes. The Lord is pleased with this place. It is one of only two churches that needed no correction. They were dealing with suffering, persecution, and opposition. They probably wondered if they were going to make it or die out, yet the Lord speaks to them so they have great assurance and encouragement to endure. He knows what they are facing and will see them through. He knows what is going on or what will go on in our lives and will see us through. We find so much strength to live faithfully in Jesus’ words to this church.
Fighter Verse: “Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” – Revelation 2:10

Our Outreach Ministry is organizing a Community Dinner event in partnership with Open Door Outreach. Residents within our community are invited to enjoy dinner, games, and a fun afternoon connecting with neighbors and The Lakes Church family.

BAPTISM | 10/18
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!
MIDDLE SCHOOL CONFERENCE | 10/23-24
Converge is an exciting weekend where middle school youth groups from around the area come together at Ward Church for a weekend packed with fun, community, and faith!
Students will experience worship, engaging sessions, laser tag, escape rooms, inflatables, sports tournaments, and more. It’s a great opportunity for students to connect with other middle schoolers, have a ton of fun, and grow in their faith.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. Every Tuesday of from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
