October 18 | Revelation – The End and the Beginning, Part 6: Compromised to Conviction, Revelation 2:12-17 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: The world around us is constantly trying to influence and control our thinking. The temptations come in all different directions and we can slowly, or quickly, fade into compromising our faith. This is not a new phenomenon either. The Old Testament is filled with the people of God adapting and adopting the world’s values and falling away from the Lord. We come to a church in Pergamum that was doing some things well. Jesus also comes to them to correct and warn them that they are fading in compromise. They were allowing the world to influence them instead of influencing the world around them. They were also believing dangerous and destructive false teaching that was causing them to stumble into sin. Jesus comes to help, encourage, heal, rebuke, correct and protect His people. The Lord cares deeply about us and has the double edged sword to convict and heal us. There is so much at stake and the words that the Lord speaks to Pergamum can literally save and protect our lives, marriages, family and future. We need to pay careful attention.

Our Outreach Ministry is organizing a Community Dinner event in partnership with Open Door Outreach. Residents within our community are invited to enjoy dinner, games, and a fun afternoon connecting with neighbors and The Lakes Church family.

BAPTISM | 10/18
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!
THEOLOGY REFRESH | 10/24
Join us for Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class at 10am in the Worship Center, designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CONFERENCE | 10/23-24
Converge is an exciting weekend where middle school youth groups from around the area come together at Ward Church for a weekend packed with fun, community, and faith!
Students will experience worship, engaging sessions, laser tag, escape rooms, inflatables, sports tournaments, and more. It’s a great opportunity for students to connect with other middle schoolers, have a ton of fun, and grow in their faith.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Hard to believe, but we just wrapped up our 3-year, chronological study of the Bible! Where does the time go?
But that does mean that, this week, we’re starting back over in Genesis! Chapters 1-2 are maybe some of the most well-known passages of the Bible. It also gets taught a lot to children….but it’s much more than a children’s story! These chapters are foundational to understanding our God as Creator.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. Every Tuesday of from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm.
