JOB: LET GOD BE GOD
Why would a good God allow so much suffering? This is a common question that many people ask. When we are going through hardships and difficulties, we can find ourselves doubting the Lord’s plan. The good news is that the Bible directly addresses our questions on pain, trials, and more. The book of Job delves deep into this subject, especially when it comes to “innocent” people suffering. Job was a righteous man by all accounts. He went through devastating losses to his children, business, wealth, and health. On top of all of this, he has some pretty miserable friends who accuse him of doing wrong and deserving what he is facing. There is so much for our faith in this book. It points us to the only true innocent Person to suffer, which was Jesus. This book offers us hope, trust, comfort, encouragement, and growth for our faith. It gives us a profound exploration of God’s sovereignty and goodness and to be able to trust Him when we can’t trace His hand.
