September 20 | Revelation – The End and the Beginning, Part 2: The Alpha and The Omega Loves Me, Revelation 1:4-8 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: The book of Revelation begins with some amazing promises, declarations, and insights. Right away, we learn what kind of book it is and to whom it was written. Revelation was specifically and directly written to seven churches in Asia, and we learn more about each of these churches in chapters 2 and 3. These churches were facing hardships, temptations, and pressure to compromise their faith in Jesus. Yet, rather than beginning with everything happening around them, Revelation begins by directing their focus to Jesus. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the One who rules over all things and will soon return and reign. He is the firstborn from the dead and the King of kings. Revelation makes the astonishing declaration that this King loves us—and the word used is active, meaning that even now, He loves us. His love transforms us to be His people and serve as priests to God.
Fighter Verse: “To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” – Revelation 1:5-6

GRIEFSHARE | 9/19
GriefShare is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.
This 13-week session will meet weekly on Saturday beginning September 19 at 9am

OUTREACH COMMUNITY DINNER | 9/19

Our Outreach Ministry is organizing a Community Dinner event in partnership with Open Door Outreach. Residents within our community are invited to enjoy dinner, games, and a fun afternoon connecting with neighbors and The Lakes Church family.
Three location service opportunities:
– Whispering Woods Community Center
– American Inn and Suites Lobby (7076 Highland Rd, Waterford, 48327)
– Lakeland Place (2700 Elizabeth Lake Rd, Waterford, 48328)

THEOLOGY REFRESH | 9/26
Join us for Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class at 10am in the Worship Center, designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.
WOMEN’S RETREAT | 10/9-11
True wisdom doesn’t come from over thinking, hustling, or self-reliance. Scripture tells us that fear of the Lord is the very beginning of wisdom.
The Lakes Women are coming together October 9-11 at Miracle Camp in Lawton, Michigan to study what it truly means to walk in the fear of the Lord. Not a fear that causes dread, but a reverent trust that brings perfect peace.
Whether you have walked with God for decades, are just starting your faith journey, or simply need a safe place to rest, there is a seat at the table with your name on it. Come as you are to be loved, renewed, and reminded of the awe inspiring goodness of our God.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
We often wonder what God’s will for our lives may be. Our children are no different – they just think of it in different terms. The good news? In Paul’s first letter to Thessalonica, Paul lays out the answer for us! And we’ll spend this week sharing this life-changing truth with the children!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. Every Tuesday of from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.
