September 13 | Revelation – Part 1: The End and the Beginning (Introduction), Revelation 1:1-3 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: There is a lot of confusion surrounding Revelation, which is why we’re starting a new series to walk through it together. While some avoid it because it seems difficult to understand and others sensationalize it and use it to push their agenda.Revelation is ultimately a gift from God that calls us to remain faithful in the midst of trials and uncertainty. Throughout it there are vivid imagery and powerful visions of heaven and hell, wars and battles, dragons and lambs, and angels and demons. We are reminded that evil will not have the final word. You can read the end of the book, God wins! We will see that our present struggles and turmoil in the world are just temporary and God’s Kingdom is eternal. One day, every tear will be wiped away and all things will be made new. As we journey through this incredible book, we will see that it is not a secret message for us to unlock, but one that gives us courage to live faithfully and stand firm in Christ. Revelation ultimately points us to Jesus, the Alpha and Omega, who is with us today and for eternity. We are to live knowing that our hope is not found in this fleeting world, but in our victorious Savior, who loves us and gave Himself up for our salvation. Revelation shows us the end of all things, but also the beginning of all things new.
Fighter Verse: “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” – Revelation 1:3

What’s Happening?
SUNDAY +1 | 9/13
Join us for Sunday + 1 on the patio following each of our Sunday services! At The Lakes, we talk a lot about the importance of community and getting connected—and this is the perfect opportunity to take that next step. On this Sunday, you’ll have the chance to explore just about all the ministries we have here at The Lakes Church, meet ministry leaders, and discover where you can plug in. Whether you’re new, looking to serve, or simply wanting to build deeper connections, Sunday + 1 is for you!
GRIEFSHARE | 9/19
GriefShare is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.
This 13-week session will meet weekly on Saturday beginning September 19 at 9am
Email Elaine Riedel at laneyact@hotmail.com for more information and to register.
OUTREACH COMMUNITY DINNER | 9/19
