August 30 | Worship – Part 4: Everything Ends in Worship, Psalm 150 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: The book of Psalms is filled with prayers, praise, crying out to God, anguish and just about every other human emotion. It ends with Psalm 150. It is a very short chapter, but an amazing one. It shows us that everything in life ends with worship. No matter what we are going through, what we have faced, or what will happen, through Jesus Christ it will all work out for God’s glory and our good. It will all end with praise. All people are created to worship Him. We are to worship God for who He is and what He has done for us in Christ. We are to worship Him for everything. We are to worship Him in every way. There is not a “correct” way of worshipping God. We are to worship Him everywhere. This Psalm gives us great hope and is so practical for our lives. Knowing the end allows us to worship God through the valleys and mountain top experiences in life.

THEOLOGY REFRESH | 8/29
Join us for Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.
FAMILY SERVICE | 8/30
5th Sunday at The Lakes means Family Service! There will be no Lakes Children program for Elementary Age (1st-5th grade) this Sunday. We invite children in this age group to worship together with their families this Sunday! Early childhood (ages Birth-Kindergarten) still available during both the 9:30am and 11:15am services upstairs.
WOMEN’S MONTHLY PRAYER | 9/5
Join our Lakes Women on the first Saturday of each month on the 2nd floor, as we come together for a powerful time in praise, prayer and intercession as we seek God’s heart. Come and be a part of what God is doing through prayer!

ROOTED | 9/9
Rooted is designed for all people but especially new people to the church, new Christians, and those who are looking for a refresh to their spiritual lives. This is a 10-week study of the foundational aspects of the Christian faith. This session will be on Wednesday nights in Waterford.

Join us for Sunday + 1 on the patio following each of our Sunday services! At The Lakes, we talk a lot about the importance of community and getting connected—and this is the perfect opportunity to take that next step. On this Sunday, you’ll have the chance to explore just about all the ministries we have here at The Lakes Church, meet ministry leaders, and discover where you can plug in. Whether you’re new, looking to serve, or simply wanting to build deeper connections, Sunday + 1 is for you!
GRIEFSHARE | 9/19
GriefShare is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability—and gain solid support each step of the way.
This 13-week session will meet weekly on Saturday beginning September 19 at 9am

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
