August 23 | Worship – Part 3: Standing in Awe of God, Romans 11:33-36 – Pastor Doug Schmidt
Synopsis: Do you know God well enough that you stand in awe of Him? This is an important question to consider. The Lord is worthy of our worship and praise. To stand in awe means to have a profound reverence, wonder, amazement and healthy fear of God. His power, wisdom, holiness and glory is so far beyond us. Everything is made by Him, through Him, and for Him. In the book of Romans, we have an amazing passage that speaks of the worship God is worthy of.
Fighter Verse: “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” – Romans 11:33

New around here? Join us for lunch in the large group room (219) upstairs after the third service at 12:45pm and get to know The Lakes; our mission, leadership, core values, ministries, and where you fit in! Discovering the Lakes is once every other month, so please take note of the date here!

THEOLOGY REFRESH | 8/29
Join us for Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.
ROOTED | 9/9
Rooted is designed for all people but especially new people to the church, new Christians, and those who are looking for a refresh to their spiritual lives. This is a 10-week study of the foundational aspects of the Christian faith. This session will be on Wednesday nights in Waterford.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Paul was standing before a tribunal after being incarcerated for years. Most people who finally had this opportunity would use it to fight for release from his imprisonment and seek his freedom. But…Paul chose to use this prime opportunity to extend a gospel presentation! Paul desired everyone to receive the same gift of salvation that he had received – no matter who they were and what they were doing.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church. – On break until fall

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.

OUR WEEKLY SERVICE is centered around music, prayer, Bible stories and simple life lessons. All ages and abilities are welcome to come and be free to be themselves while actively participating as a contributing member of an inclusive and loving faith community at The Lakes Church.
