May 7 | Genesis, Part 29: Reconciling Relationships (Genesis 33:1-11; Matthew 5:23-26) – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: God is redemptive. He desires us to be reconciled to Himself and also others. As we continue our Genesis series, we see this picture clearly. After Jacob “wrestles” with the Lord, he is completely transformed. Part of Lord’s plan for Jacob was to be reconciled with his brother Esau. They spent twenty years apart and the last time Jacob talked to or saw him, Esau was enraged and wanted him dead. Yet, the Lord is working in both of their lives. He restores, renews, and reconciles their relationship. We will see God’s plan for our lives in how to reconcile relationships through Jacob and Esau.
Fighter Verse: Matthew 5:23-24 – “So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

What’s Happening?
MEN’S ADVANCE | 5/19-21 – REGISTER NOW!
Lakes Men (18+) join us for this exciting weekend adventure filled with great teaching, fun activities and hearty meals, and plenty of time to relax and hang out with other guys. Come and be challenged to advance in your spiritual growth with biblical messages that will strengthen you as men of faith. This event will be held at Faholo Conference Center in Grass Lake, MI from May 19-21. The cost for food and lodging for the weekend is $160 (with some activities costing extra).

VBS 2023 IS OPEN FOR REGISTRATION! | JULY 17-20
It’s happening!!! VBS 2023 is almost here! This year, we’ll be celebrating all kinds of games. From classic tabletop games to strategy games to video games and more, children will play their way through our week of VBS! But more importantly, they’ll see Jesus through the eyes of one of His closest friends and discover that trusting Jesus as Savior and following Him changes the game entirely!
Here are the details:
Monday, July 17th, through Thursday, July 20th
Nightly from 5:30pm to 8:30pm
Open to all children age 4 through 5th Grade (grade entering in the Fall of 2023)
LAKES FAMILY CAMPOUT | JULY 21-23

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:30 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during The 9:30 and 11:30 services and Tuesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
UPCOMING EVENTS: – Registration is open for VBS, July 17-20, 2023!
THURSDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service.
MONDAY HIGH SCHOOL GROW GROUPS – Grow Groups meet weekly on Mondays at Josh and Cassie’s house in Clarkston. Please email Josh if you are interested in attending! josh.broyles@thelakescc.org
Monthly Prayer | Lakes Women meet for prayer the first Saturday of each month from 9:30am to 11:00am!
