April 5 | Easter 2026 – Doubt Your Doubts, John 20:24-31 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: He is risen, He is risen indeed! Easter is the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. He is really alive and we will live through Him. What looked like defeat was part of God’s plan for victory. It was through Jesus’ death that death was defeated because Christ rose! Jesus’ victory becomes our victory when we believe in Him. This morning we are celebrating the cornerstone of Christianity, which is a historical fact. Everything hinges on the resurrection. Sometimes, we have our questions and doubts about what happened. One of Jesus’ closest disciples, Thomas, expressed great skepticism and doubt as well to Jesus rising from the dead. This Easter, we are going to see the truth, eternal significance, power and hope that the resurrection of Jesus produces. We are going to walk through John 20 and “doubting Thomas’” story to see how he moved from a hardened skeptic to one of the most influential followers of Christ.
Fighter Verse: John 20:27 – Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.”

What’s Happening?
BAPTISM | APRIL 5
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let us know you are interested in getting baptized!
GOOD FRIDAY | APRIL 3
Join us at The Lakes Church on April 3 for our Good Friday services at 12pm and 6:30pm. Together, we will reflect on and remember the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Children’s programming will be available for ages birth through 4 years old, so your whole family can participate in this meaningful time of worship.
EASTER SUNDAY | APRIL 5
We celebrate the cornerstone of Christianity, the resurrection of Jesus and the new life He gives to us! This year we will have FOUR services, and we can’t wait to celebrate with each of you at one of them! Join us at 7:15am, 8:30am, 10:00am, 11:30am, with full Lakes Children programming available in the 8:30am, 10:00am and 11:30am services.
We will also have baptism at all services on Easter. Please fill out this form to let Pastor Mark know if you are interested in getting baptized!
WOMEN’S MOVIE NIGHT | APRIL 17
Lakes Women, you’re invited to join us for a special movie night on April 17 from 7–9pm in the upper level! We’ll be featuring The War Room, a powerful film about the impact of prayer and faith in everyday life. Grab a friend and come enjoy a relaxing and encouraging night together—we’d love to see you there!
FAMILY FRIDAY FUN NIGHT | APRIL 17
Friday Family Fun Night is for kids K through 5th grade and their families! Parents are invited to join us, as this is not a drop-off event. Come out to Lakes West from 6:30-9pm for a night of family fun, friendly competition, and making great memories together. We can’t wait to see you there!

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
