April 19 | 1 John, Without a Shadow of a Doubt – Part 10: Putting Down the ‘Me Monster’, 1 John 3:4-10 – Pastor Chris Clark
Synopsis: The believer in Christ has been given a new nature that is in Christ. Yet that same believer still has the old sin nature that is completely self-focused—a virtual “me monster”. The differences between the two natures are stark: the new nature in Christ does not sin because it is born in Christ; the me monster does nothing but sin. The me monster cannot be reformed; it must be programmed to be dead (Romans 6:11). The key to destroying the me monster is to abide in Christ—to discover His will and then to do His will.
Fighter Verse: 1 John 3:5 – You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.

FAMILY FRIDAY FUN NIGHT | APRIL 17
Friday Family Fun Night is for kids K through 5th grade and their families! Parents are invited to join us, as this is not a drop-off event. Come out to Lakes West from 6:30-9pm for a night of family fun, friendly competition, and making great memories together. We can’t wait to see you there!
OUTREACH COMMUNITY DINNER | APRIL 18
Our Outreach Ministry is organizing a Senior Dinner event in partnership with Open Door Outreach. Residents within our community are invited to enjoy dinner, games, and a fun afternoon connecting with neighbors and The Lakes Church family.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
