February 26 | Genesis – Part 22 (Genesis 22:1-19): The Sacrifice of the Son
The Lord asks Abraham to do something very shocking in Genesis 22. He tells him to take his only son, whom he loves, and offer him as an offering. Why would God ask Abraham to do this? While it is true that God was testing his faith, there is more to the story. It is pointing to the ultimate sacrifice of what Jesus will do. This story shows us that we all need a substitute that only God can provide for us. This Sunday, we are looking at the story of the sacrifice of Isaac and seeing the Lord’s grace anew in our lives.
Genesis 21:6 – Genesis 22:14 – So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

IMPORTANT! NEW SERVICE TIMES STARTING ON MARCH 12TH
With the amazing growth we are seeing as a church, we’ve had to really think through how to move forward to fit everyone here on a Sunday morning. Concluding that we will soon have to add a third Sunday service, we are taking the first step towards that by moving our two current services to 9:30am and 11:30am starting March 12th. That will leave room to then add an 8am service sometime between Easter and the fall of this year, but for now, what you need to know is that starting March 12th, our two services will be at 9:30 and 11:30am!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9 and 11 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during The 9 and 11am services and Tuesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
THIS WEEK –Try as we might, we just cannot imagine or plan like God does! He isn’t confined to choices like we are – He’s all powerful and sovereign! God chose an old man (Abram) and his barren wife (Sarai) as the starting point for a large family. From our perspective, this seems foolish. But from God’s perspective, they were the perfect choice! Come Sunday and find out why!

THURSDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service.
MONDAY HIGH SCHOOL GROW GROUPS – All high schoolers are invited to come to the Dewaeles’ house for Grow Groups on Monday nights from 6:30-8:30pm. *Note: No Grow Groups on Monday, 2/27!*
Monthly Prayer | Lakes Women meet for prayer the first Saturday of each month from 9:30am to 11:00am!
Quarterly “Chat-a-latte” gathering | Coffee/Tea & fellowship in the lower level Atrium – stay tuned for our next date!
