February 19 | Genesis – Part 21 (Genesis 21:1-21): When God Makes You Laugh
Joy and laughter are God’s gifts to us. They brighten our souls and renew our spirits. The Lord is in the business of bringing us to places of great rejoicing and laughter. We see this clearly throughout the Bible but especially in Genesis 21. The Lord fulfills His promise to Abraham and Sarah. When Abraham’s body was as good as dead and Sarah was too old to birth children, a miracle happens and they have the promised child. The Lord fulfills His promises to us and wants us to taste and see that He is good. There is joy and laughter waiting for us when we trust God.
Genesis 21:6 – And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.”

WORSHIP NIGHT | TONIGHT, 2/17 AT 7PM

American Sign Language interpretation is now provided in the 9am services. Look for your interpreter, Heather, on the left hand side of the front of Worship Center!
IMPORTANT! NEW SERVICE TIMES STARTING ON MARCH 12TH
With the amazing growth we are seeing as a church, we’ve had to really think through how to move forward to fit everyone here on a Sunday morning. Concluding that we will soon have to add a third Sunday service, we are taking the first step towards that by moving our two current services to 9:30am and 11:30am starting March 12th. That will leave room to then add an 8am service sometime between Easter and the fall of this year, but for now, what you need to know is that starting March 12th, our two services will be at 9:30 and 11:30am!
WOMEN’S CONFERENCE – THE IF:GATHERING | 3/3-4
*REGISTRATION CLOSES ON FEBRUARY 19TH*
We are so excited to host a live-streaming of the If:gathering this year, right here at The Lakes, as an If:Local location. We will be gathering on March 3-4 (Friday night-Saturday afternoon) for a simulcast of IF:2023 women’s conference in Dallas TX, and want YOU and our local community of women to join us!

ALL CHURCH BIBLE TRIVIA NIGHT | FRIDAY, 3/17 AT 6:30PM
ALCOHOLICS FOR CHRIST | TUESDAY NIGHTS 7PM
Alcoholics for Christ (AC Ministries) is a 12-step program designed to minister and be a support to alcoholics, family members, parents, spouses, friends, adult children of or anyone who cares about someone who has a substance abuse problem. You are not alone!
We meet in the lower level on Tuesday nights at 7-8:30pm.
Core Ministries – Weekly Update
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9 and 11 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during The 9 and 11am services and Tuesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
THIS WEEK – We love to measure and track success! We all do it and in many different ways – grades, wins/losses, money, and more. In a world increasingly obsessed with measuring success, we should remember we were created for a totally different purpose! The people after the flood wanted to glorify themselves instead of God……we’ll be looking at how that turned out!
UPCOMING EVENTS: Next Friday Fun Night (K-5th grade): Movie Night featuring Zootopia | February 24th, 6:30-9pm
THURSDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service.
MONDAY HIGH SCHOOL GROW GROUPS – All high schoolers are invited to come to the Dewaeles’ house for Grow Groups on Monday nights from 6:30-8:30pm.
Monthly Prayer | Lakes Women meet for prayer the first Saturday of each month from 9:30am to 11:00am!
Quarterly “Chat-a-latte” gathering | Coffee/Tea & fellowship in the lower level Atrium – stay tuned for our next date!
March 3-4: The If:gathering – registration closes on Sunday, February 19th!
Weekly Men’s Bible Study | Join the men of The Lakes upstairs on Saturday mornings from 8-9:30am as we study the Word and share life together.
Men’s Tuesday Bible Study | Please join us upstairs as Pastor Greg Alexander leads our weekly Bible study on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30am
