February 12 | Genesis – Part 20 (Genesis 19:23-29): Don’t Look Back

Don’t look back. Jesus says this to us over and over again. There are times in our life that we get tempted to look back on our life before following Jesus or go our own way.  He uses different examples but specifically one from Genesis 19. Jesus says in Luke 17:32, “remember Lot’s wife.”  He is quoting what happened with the destruction of the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The Lord graciously saved Lot and his family but warned them to not look back. Lot’s wife ignored the warning and became a “pillar of salt.” This morning we will see what it means to keep our eyes focused on Jesus and to save our souls.

Luke 17:32-33 – Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it.

What’s Happening?

IMPORTANT! NEW SERVICE TIMES STARTING ON MARCH 12TH

With the amazing growth we are seeing as a church, we’ve had to really think through how to move forward to fit everyone here on a Sunday morning. Concluding that we will soon have to add a third Sunday service, we are taking the first step towards that by moving our two current services to 9:30am and 11:30am starting March 12th. That will leave room to then add an 8am service sometime between Easter and the fall of this year, but for now, what you need to know is that starting March 12th, our two services will be at 9:30 and 11:30am!

THIS WEEK –The story of Noah’s Ark is arguably one of the most recognizable stories in the Bible. It’s likely that many of the children will have heard this story before. But….it’s so important to remember the sometimes tough lesson of this story! God can’t tolerate sin and has to punish it. The consequence of sin is death. But – God is merciful! He offered salvation to Noah and his family through the ark. And he offers salvation to anyone that puts their trust and faith in His son, Jesus Christ.
