Seeking God | Day 14

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

If you count the number of times that the Lord told Joshua not to be afraid, it would shock you. There are 7 times where God tells Joshua not to fear. 7! Why so many? I think it is because we forget. We look at the things that oppose us. Our “enemies” try to make us tremble. It is in the midst of fear that the Lord commands us to be strong and courageous. He is not suggesting it for us, but telling us, “I am with you. I see these enemies, you have nothing to fear just follow me.” Joshua believed the Lord and acted on it. He led the people to the Promised Land and through faith defeated Israel’s greatest enemies.

PRAYER – What are you afraid of? Bring that before the Lord. Tell the Lord all of your anxiety and fears, don’t worry, He can handle it. Now remember His promises.
