September 29 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 8:28, Part 30: The Greatest Verse in the Bible (Part 2) – Pastor Mark Pospisil

Synopsis: How can God use suffering and evil for His purposes? This is an important question. We can trust and know that the Lord can and will work all things for our good and His glory. But, sometimes our faith gets tested during times of suffering. Just think of Joseph. He went through many hardships and trials. Yet, at the end of his life he made an amazing declaration looking back. He said in Genesis 50:20, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” This morning we are going to see how Romans 8:28 gives us confidence that what others meant for evil, God can mean for good.

Fighter Verse: Genesis 50:20 – “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”

HEALING HIDDEN HURTS | OCTOBER 8

Do you feel stuck and unable to move forward because of hidden hurts of past abuse? Are you longing for more in your life but don’t know where and how to begin the healing process? If your heart is feeling tugged by these questions, please consider joining a weekly Bible study in community with women who are survivors of sexual, physical or emotional abuse. This is a safe, discreet space where you can feel comfortable healing and growing at your own pace and within your boundaries. We will be digging into Mary DeMuth’s Into the Light workbook, a 7-session study that traces biblical truths of healing through stories of real women in the Bible.  The registration cost is $25 to cover the workbook.

The facilitator of this group is Joanne Ewald, a Lakes member, fellow survivor and founder of Mend on the Move, a nonprofit that has employed abuse survivors for nearly 10 years to create jewelry from auto scrap.
