October 26 | Job, Let God Be God – Part 8: Anguish, Answers and the Arbiter, Job 8-10 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: We meet another one of Job’s “friends” who attempts to help him. His name is Bildad and he pretty much says to Job, “you sinned or your children sinned, that’s why they died and you are suffering.” His counsel is misguided and leaves us with more questions than answers. Job actually goes on to ask God four agonizing questions. They are summed up this way, “why did you create me if this is my life now?” He is searching for answers to his anguish. He is also searching for an arbiter. Someone who can advocate and mediate between him and Almighty God. The good news is that there is a mediator and arbiter between us and God. It is our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself as a ransom for us (1 Timothy 2:5-6). When we understand that Jesus is our mediator and arbiter we start to find answers to our anguish.
Fighter Verse: 1 Timothy 2:5-6 – For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

Join us for Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.

Women of The Lakes Church!
Join us for our Annual Craft Night on Thursday, November 14 at 6:30pm. This year we’ll be getting creative with two fun projects — cookie decorating with Kelli Hawkins and bejeweled bookmarks with KO Osborne. Bring a snack to share, come ready to laugh, connect, and enjoy a night of creativity and fun! Cost of the event is $20 and space is limited to 50 participants, so please register by November 7 to save your spot!

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.
