August 24 | Ordinary People, Extraordinary God – We all Can Be a Barnabas!, Acts 11:23-24 – Pastor Doug Schmidt
Synopsis: Barnabas was an ordinary man who through the Lord did extraordinary things. Although he was not one of the highly esteemed apostles and he never wrote a book in the New Testament, it could be argued that he was one of the most influential people in the early church. His parents called him Joseph, but the Apostles descriptively named him Barnabas, which means son of encouragement. We can learn a lot from the four episodes where he encouraged other people. In fact, we can be just like Barnabas!
Fighter Verse: Acts 11:23-24 – When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

THEOLOGY REFRESH | 8/23 at 10am
We’re excited to introduce Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.
Join us at 10am in the large group room in the upper level of the church.
WOMEN’S FALL BIBLE STUDY | begins 9/18
Join us for a new Women’s Bible Study as we dive into Unoffendable by Brant Hansen — a powerful, funny, and challenging look at what it really means to live with grace, humility, and a heart that chooses peace over offense.
Together, we’ll explore how letting go of anger and choosing forgiveness can transform our relationships, our mindset, and our faith. This is a great study for women in every season of life — and a perfect time to invite a friend!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
