June 15 | Ordinary People, Extraordinary God, John 9 – Healed by Jesus – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: In John 9 we meet a man who suffered his whole life. He was born blind and during those days if you had a physical handicap, it was thought that either you sinned or your parents did. Because of this he was dealing with suffering and shame. Suffering is unavoidable in life. We all face various afflictions and circumstances beyond our power to control. When faced with suffering one of two things happens, either you get bitter or you get better. Sometimes we blame God and get bitter that life did not turn out as we expected. Other times tthough, people are moved to find the LORD in and through their pain and suffering. Jesus is not silent or indifferent to our suffering. He offers us hope and healing. Things might not change right away, but one day, because of His death and resurrection, every tear will be wiped from our eyes.

What’s Happening?
FAMILY CAMPOUT – 6/20-22
This is our annual church family outing to Somerset Beach Campground! Bring your camper or tent and camping gear for this fun weekend at the lake. Play on the beach, hike, swim, play volleyball or softball, sit around the bonfire, or just relax with friends. The cost for the campsite is $77 per campsite for 2 nights. New around here? Join us for lunch in the large group room (219) upstairs after the third service at 12:45pm and get to know The Lakes; our mission, leadership, core values, ministries, and where you fit in! Discovering the Lakes is once every other month, so please take note of the date here!

BAPTISM – 6/29
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Happy Father’s Day! What makes someone worthy is not their accomplishments, position, or their acclaim. It has nothing to do with what we do. So what makes us worthy? We’ll check that out today!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
High School students meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 6:30pm at Lakes West.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
