May 11 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 16:17-23, Part 58: Spiritual Warfare and the Crushing of the Devil – Pastor Mark Pospisil

Synopsis: There is one verse in the book of Romans that speaks about the devil. It is simply that Satan is doomed. Spiritual warfare is an important thing to understand in our walk with Christ. Far too many times we either over emphasize or under emphasize it. We need to have a healthy and Biblical grasp on what it means that God is for us and with us. When we know the God of peace, we can have confidence that He will soon crush all of Satan’s lies and deceptions. We can never forget that we are fighting for victory but we are fighting from it.

Fighter Verse: Romans 16:20 – The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

What’s Happening?

PARENTS OF ’25 SENIORS
If you call The Lakes Church your home and you have a student who is graduating in the next couple months – we are so excited to celebrate this milestone with them! We will celebrate as a church on Sunday, June 8 in all of our services with a slideshow. Please send us pictures of your student! Send to admin@thelakescc.org. (Picture suggestions: baby, sports, graduation, family, funny, serious…we’d love to see them all!) Aim to send us between 5-10 please! Deadline: End of May. Also, if you know someone who may not be getting these emails, please let them know! We don’t want to miss anyone.
MOTHER’S DAY – 5/11
This Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day with deep gratitude for the love, strength, and selfless care of all the moms in our lives. Whether by birth, adoption, mentorship, or spiritual guidance, we honor every woman who nurtures, uplifts, and loves with a mother’s heart.

CHAT-A-LATTE’ – 5/17

All Lakes Women are welcome and encouraged to attend our Chat-a-latte from 9:30-11:00am in the atrium. Bring a friend, and come relax, drink coffee (or tea), enjoy one another’s company, and get to know some new people!

FAMILY CAMPOUT – 6/20-22

This is our annual church family outing to Somerset Beach Campground! Bring your camper or tent and camping gear for this fun weekend at the lake. Play on the beach, hike, swim, play volleyball or softball, sit around the bonfire, or just relax with friends. The cost for the campsite is $77 per campsite for 2 nights. Core Ministries – Weekly Update

When we look at all the miracles Jesus performed during His time on earth, it’s possible for us to miss the larger story being told. This week, we’ll be looking at how Jesus’ miracles reveal a glorious truth about who He is – God in the flesh!

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.

ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).

High School students meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 6:30pm at Lakes West.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP – Young adults ages 18 (post high school) – 29, join us for young adult ministry on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly in Waterford, with the occasional offsite location. Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz for location and questions.
