April 13 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 15:1-13, Part 55: Knowing The God of Hope – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: The Lord is the God of hope (Romans 15:13). One just has to look to Jesus to see how much hope is available. In the darkest moment, Jesus’ death on the cross, it looked like all hope was gone. But, this led to the greatest moment in history, the resurrection of Christ from the dead. Through Jesus all of the promises of God become available for us. The Lord wants hope to shape our lives and for us to abound in it. What does that look like? What fruit does having hope produce in our lives? We will look at what it means to know the God of hope and what it produces in our lives.
Fighter Verse: Romans 15:13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

What’s Happening?
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE – 4/18 AT NOON
Join us on APRIL 18 at noon at The Lakes Church for a Good Friday Service, as we remember Jesus dying on the cross for us.
SEDER SERVICE – 4/18 AT 6:30PM
Please join us for another special ceremonial Seder Service on Good Friday (April 18th) at 6:30pm at Bay Pointe Golf Club (4001 Haggerty Rd, West Bloomfield Township, MI 48323), as our guests from Jews For Jesus guide us through the Passover meal (NOT a full meal!), and see how it points to our Savior, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who took our sins upon Himself! Read more about what the Seder is all about here.
Childcare will not be available. If you are bringing guests, we ask that you register them all together, so we know to seat you at the same table.
BAPTISM – 4/20
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!
EASTER SUNDAY – 4/20
On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the cornerstone of Christianity, the resurrection of Jesus and the new life He gives to us! This year we will have FOUR services, and we can’t wait to celebrate with each of you at one of them! Join us at 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:30am or 12:00pm, with full Lakes Children programming available in the 9:00am, 10:30am and 12:00pm services!
We will also have baptism at all services on Easter. Please fill out this form to let pastor Mark know if you are interested in getting baptized!

New around here? Join us for lunch in the large group room (219) upstairs after the third service at 12:45pm and get to know The Lakes; our mission, leadership, core values, ministries, and where you fit in! Discovering the Lakes is once every other month, so please take note of the date here!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
This week, we’ll take a glimpse into the joy that overtook the crowds of Jerusalem as Jesus made His way into the city. It wouldn’t be until one week later that those people realized they misunderstood the purpose of His entry – it was not to overthrow their oppressors but to offer salvation to all who would turn to Him in faith!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
High School students meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 6:30pm at Lakes West.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP – Young adults ages 18 (post high school) – 29, join us for young adult ministry on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly in Waterford, with the occasional offsite location. Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz for location and questions.
