March 9 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 13:1-7, Part 50: God, Government and the Gospel – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: Something that causes a lot of confusion and division today is politics. Everybody seems to have an opinion on everything and this is especially true with how the government should operate. While we, as followers of Jesus, are to be good citizens, we must remember that our ultimate citizenship is in heaven. So, how are followers of Jesus to view the government? What does it look like when the government is opposed to God and His Word? What does it mean to “submit” to our governing authorities? The good news is that God has given us clarity when it comes to all of these issues and more in Romans 13.
Fighter Verse: Romans 13:7 – Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

What’s Happening?
ANNUAL FAMILY MEETING – 3/9
Join us for our Annual Family Meeting. If you call The Lakes Church your home, we would love for you to join us for our Family Meeting on March 9th, 2025 at 12:30pm. We look forward to recapping all that God has done in our church over the past year, as well as giving our church family a glimpse of what we hope is to come over the next year.
CHAT-A-LATTE’ – 3/15
All Lakes Women are welcome and encouraged to attend our Chat-a-latte from 9:30-11:00am in the atrium. Bring a friend, and come relax, drink coffee (or tea), enjoy one another’s company, and get to know some new people!
OUTREACH MINISTRY – 4/5
The Lakes Church Outreach Ministry will be hosting an easter egg hunt for our neighboring community on April 5th. We need your help – we are collecting plastic easter eggs (empty or filled) and candy to go inside. If you have anything you would like to donate, you can drop it off in the atrium on a Sunday before March 26th.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Jesus traveled and performed many miracles! Jesus showed His concern for people’s physical needs, yet His miracles point to the greater truth that He came to meet an even deeper need in all of us.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

VBS | Save the Date for July 21-24! Registration coming soon
WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
