September 21 | Job, Let God Be God – Part 3: Unmapped Darkness, Job 1:13-22 – Pastor Mark Pospisil

Synopsis: Job faces the worst day of his life. In one fell swoop he loses all of his wealth, income, and finances. This happens through a series of natural disasters and human evil. Then the absolute devastating news comes to him that all ten of his children were killed in a storm. He is going through unmapped darkness. His life is going to be forever changed by this day. Something remarkable happens, though. He responds with falling to the ground in devastation but also worship. He makes this incredible statement, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord.” How could he say this and mean it? What hope is there for us when faced with unmapped darkness? We are going to see how to have deep roots in Jesus to take us through anything we face.

Fighter Verse: Job 1:20-21 – Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Core Ministries – Weekly Update

Mary’s worship of Jesus, by pouring oil on His feet, was a clear overflow of her love and devotion for Christ. And her action stands in contrast to Judas and the other disciples that looked at her actions as wasteful. This week, we’re going to look at the source of our own worship of God!
