September 14 | Job, Let God Be God – Part 2: God’s Sovereignty Over Evil, Job 1:6-12 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: At the beginning of the book of Job, we see a very peculiar interaction. It is between God and satan over Job’s character and integrity. This brings up a lot of questions. What is satan doing before God? Why did the Lord allow Job to be in the “crosshairs” of the devil? What we see is that God is sovereign over the whole world. What does this mean? It means that nothing happens outside of Him. God can do what He wants, when He wants, however He wants. This gives us great hope because God is good and for us. We can trust Him when facing evil because He has proven that He can even use evil for His purposes. All one has to do is look to the cross of Christ to see this ultimately realized. Satan cannot do anything unless the Lord gives him permission. The Lord is working all things in Job’s life for his good and also in our lives as well in Christ.
Fighter Verse: Luke 22:31-32 – Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, 32 but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.

This 9-week course, facilitated by Eric & Nichole Husa, will be held Thursday evenings in Lakes West at The Lakes Church from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. The cost is $80 per individual/couple.

We’re excited to introduce Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.
