July 6 | Ordinary People, Extraordinary God, 1 Corinthians 1:1 – Lessons from Sosthenes – Pastor Chris Clark
Synopsis: The wealth of treasures in the Bible are immeasurable; the more you read the Bible, the more you study the Bible, the more treasure you discover! As we continue in our message series titled “Ordinary People, Extraordinary God,” we are going to look at someone that is almost invisible. When we see his name in the Bible for the first time, we can so easily forget that we even read about him. This man’s name: Sosthenes. He is only mentioned twice in the Bible, and it doesn’t seem that he was that significant. But if we slow down and examine what God’s word says, we discover more precious treasures of truth that God wants to infuse into our lives…all courtesy of Sosthenes. This Sunday, we will get into God’s word and discover “Lessons from Sosthenes.”

What’s Happening?
VBS – July 21-24
This summer’s Vacation Bible School at The Lakes Church will be about discovering the bigness of God in the smallest of things! Come check out all the fun teachings, crafts, music, games, and more!!! Four (4) Consecutive Nights – Monday, July 21st through Thursday, July 24th | 6:00pm to 8:30pm nightly. This event is open to any child Age 4 (must be 4 by 7/21/2025) through entering 5th Grade in the Fall of 2025.
SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE – NOW-8/9
The Lakes Church Outreach Ministry is in need of volunteers as well as donations for the upcoming outreach backpack drive on August 9. We are hoping to provide back to school supplies to 50+ kids in need. A box will be located in atrium to drop off supplies. For any questions regarding supplies or in person serve opportunities, contact Jenna LaMaster.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
High School students meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 6:30pm at Lakes West.
MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
