May 4 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 16:1-16, Part 57: Leaving a Legacy – Pastor Mark Pospisil

Synopsis: We have come to the last chapter of the greatest book ever written. Romans 16 is mostly greetings to specific people in the church. It highlights some amazing men and women who are committed to the cause of Christ. They left a powerful imprint and legacy because of their faith. The Lord has given us this section for a reason. It shows that the church is built not on a person or leader but on Christ. It also shows that what we do with our lives matters. The Lord has given us all a part to play. Do you know yours?

Fighter Verse: Romans 16:1-2 – I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church at Cenchreae, that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well.

WOMEN’S PRAYER MEETING – 5/3
Join our Lakes Women on the first Saturday of each month on the 2nd floor, as we come together for a powerful time in praise, prayer and intercession as we seek God’s heart. Come and be a part of what God is doing through prayer!

BRUNCH AT LAKES WEST – 5/4
Join us this Sunday for Brunch at Lakes West! Following all three services, we invite you to come over to Lakes West and enjoy some food and community. (Make sure you pick up your kids first so they can join in on the fun too!)

If you haven’t yet seen Lakes West, this is a great opportunity to check it out!

CHAT-A-LATTE’ – 5/17

All Lakes Women are welcome and encouraged to attend our Chat-a-latte from 9:30-11:00am in the atrium. Bring a friend, and come relax, drink coffee (or tea), enjoy one another’s company, and get to know some new people!

MEN’S ADVANCE – 5/16-18
Lakes Men (16+) join us for this exciting weekend adventure filled with great teaching, fun activities, hearty meals, and plenty of time to relax and hang out with other guys. You will be challenged to advance in your spiritual growth through biblical messages that will strengthen you as men of faith. This event will be held at Faholo Conference Center in Grass Lake, MI from May 16-18. The weekend’s food and lodging early registration costs $180 until April 27th and $190 after that (some activities cost extra). Registration closes May 4th.
FAMILY CAMPOUT – 6/20-22

This is our annual church family outing to Somerset Beach Campground! Bring your camper or tent and camping gear for this fun weekend at the lake. Play on the beach, hike, swim, play volleyball or softball, sit around the bonfire, or just relax with friends. The cost for the campsite is $77 per campsite for 2 nights. Core Ministries – Weekly Update

Jesus had lots of people following Him and, at times, they got HUNGRY! Jesus used miracles to show His power to the people around Him. But more importantly, His miracles were born out of something even more central to Him – His love and compassion for people!

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.

ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).

High School students meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 6:30pm at Lakes West.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP – Young adults ages 18 (post high school) – 29, join us for young adult ministry on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly in Waterford, with the occasional offsite location. Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz for location and questions.
