April 20 | Easter, Matthew 28:1-10, He is Risen! – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: The grave could not hold Jesus. He died but death did not finish Him. Jesus rose from the dead and is alive today! For if Christ did not rise, then our faith is futile and we are still in our sins (1 Corinthians 15:17). But, He did rise and defeated death. This is the best news in the world. The resurrection of Jesus changes everything. Christ really rose and is really with us. It is the most important event in the history of the world. It is also the foundation of our faith. We are going to celebrate all that this means on Sunday. I want to encourage you to also invite some family, friends, and neighbors to join us. Everybody needs to hear the good news of what Jesus has done.

What’s Happening?
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE – 4/18 AT NOON
Join us this Good Friday as we gather to reflect on the incredible love and sacrifice of Jesus. It’s a time of reverence, hope, and deep meaning as we prepare our hearts for Easter.
Childcare available for birth – 4 years old.
BAPTISM – 4/20
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!
EASTER SUNDAY – 4/20
On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the cornerstone of Christianity, the resurrection of Jesus and the new life He gives to us! This year we will have FOUR services, and we can’t wait to celebrate with each of you at one of them! Join us at 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:30am or 12:00pm, with full Lakes Children programming available in the 9:00am, 10:30am and 12:00pm services!
We will also have baptism at all services on Easter. Please fill out this form to let pastor Mark know if you are interested in getting baptized!

New around here? Join us for lunch in the large group room (219) upstairs after the third service at 12:45pm and get to know The Lakes; our mission, leadership, core values, ministries, and where you fit in! Discovering the Lakes is once every other month, so please take note of the date here!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
This week, we’ll take a glimpse into the joy that overtook the crowds of Jerusalem as Jesus made His way into the city. It wouldn’t be until one week later that those people realized they misunderstood the purpose of His entry – it was not to overthrow their oppressors but to offer salvation to all who would turn to Him in faith!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
High School students meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 6:30pm at Lakes West.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP – Young adults ages 18 (post high school) – 29, join us for young adult ministry on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly in Waterford, with the occasional offsite location. Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz for location and questions.
