March 30 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 14:1-9, Part 53: In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: People have a lot of opinions about a lot of things. This is especially true when it comes to how our faith operates. What days should we honor? What should we eat or drink and what should we avoid? What kind of things are allowable for Christians? There are so many ideas and questions when it comes to the day-by-day aspects of our faith. This is why it is so important to have love for one another. We need to have unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, and charity in all things. Romans 14 shows us how to operate in freedom and with others who have different opinions.
Fighter Verse: Romans 14:4 – Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

What’s Happening?
FAMILY SERVICE – 3/30
5th Sunday at The Lakes means Family Service! There will be no Lakes Children program for Elementary Age (1st-5th grade) this Sunday. We invite children in this age group to worship together with their families this Sunday! Early childhood (ages Birth-Kindergarten) still available during both the 9:30am and 11:15am services upstairs.
OUTREACH MINISTRY MEETING – 3/30
Join us to learn about the exciting upcoming outreach opportunities! Food and drinks provided as well as volunteer sign ups!
When: Sunday, 3/30 after the 3rd service
Where: Upper Level Large Group Room
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE – 4/18 AT NOON
Join us on APRIL 18 at noon at The Lakes Church for a Good Friday Service, as we remember Jesus dying on the cross for us.
SEDER SERVICE – 4/18 AT 6:30PM
Please join us for another special ceremonial Seder Service on Good Friday (April 18th) at 6:30pm at Bay Pointe Golf Club (4001 Haggerty Rd, West Bloomfield Township, MI 48323), as our guests from Jews For Jesus guide us through the Passover meal (NOT a full meal!), and see how it points to our Savior, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who took our sins upon Himself! Childcare will not be available. If you are bringing guests, we ask that you register them all together, so we know to seat you at the same table.
EASTER SUNDAY – 4/20
On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the cornerstone of Christianity, the resurrection of Jesus and the new life He gives to us! This year we will have FOUR services, and we can’t wait to celebrate with each of you at one of them! Join us at 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:30am or 12:00pm, with full Lakes Children programming available in the 9:00am, 10:30am and 12:00pm services!
We will also have baptism at all services on Easter. Please fill out this form to let pastor Mark know if you are interested in getting baptized!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
We’ll be looking at the definition of FAITH given to us in Hebrews 11:1. Now, this definition leaves it open for us to possibly put our faith in things other than the truths of the Bible. So we’ll be exploring why there should be only one true object of our faith – JESUS!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
High School students meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 6:30pm at Lakes West.

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP – Young adults ages 18 (post high school) – 29, join us for young adult ministry on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly in Waterford, with the occasional offsite location. Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz for location and questions.
