March 2 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 12:14-21, Part 49: The Power to Love our Enemies – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: The Lord gives us the ability to do the impossible. One of those things is to love our enemies. We like the idea of Jesus’ teaching on this until we are actually in a situation that calls for it because we usually want to get revenge or get even instead of forgive and overlook. This section in Romans shows us the marks of a true Christian. The Lord transforms us to love those who wronged us and to be able to be at peace with others. How does the gospel make it possible to do this? How can we overcome evil with good? How can we trust God to bring perfect justice and vengeance? The end of Romans 12 shows us all of these things.
Fighter Verse: Romans 12:21 – Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

FRIDAY FUN NIGHT – 2/28
Dress for warm weather, because it’s gonna be a WINTER LUAU at The Lakes! We’ll be eating pulled pork, playing an array of Hawaiian/Polynesian games, fun crafts, and more. Open to those in Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
WOMEN’S PRAYER MEETING – 3/1
We live in a society where we need to fight the daily battles of being strong in the Lord. Come join us on March 8th for a day of learning how to be resilient in the Lord by wearing the armor of God.

ANNUAL FAMILY MEETING – 3/9
Join us for our Annual Family Meeting. If you call The Lakes Church your home, we would love for you to join us for our Family Meeting on March 9th, 2025 at 12:30pm. We look forward to recapping all that God has done in our church over the past year, as well as giving our church family a glimpse of what we hope is to come over the next year.
OUTREACH MINISTRY – 4/5
The Lakes Church Outreach Ministry will be hosting an easter egg hunt for our neighboring community, Whispering Woods, on April 5th. We need your help – collecting easter eggs! We will have a table in the atrium for you to drop off donations (pre-stuffed plastic eggs, empty plastic eggs, candy to fill empty eggs).

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
People doubted Jesus. They questioned how He could be who He said He was. He experienced highs and lots of lows during His time on earth. It’s no different for us today – those highs and lows might happen daily! But we can find encouragement in knowing Jesus remains faithful to His purpose and is with us always.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
