February 8 | 1 John – Part 1: Without a Shadow of a Doubt, 1 John 1 – Pastor Mark Pospisil

Synopsis: Far too many times, followers of Christ lack confidence. Some doubt and question if they are really saved or belong to the Lord. Others are mistaken about their salvation. They think they know Christ, but nothing in their lives show that. Still others are deceived and believe lies about God and themselves. One of the things that the Lord wants us to have is certainty and assurance. This is exactly what the book of 1 John is all about. Listen to 1 John 5:13, “ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” God wants us to know Him and know that we belong to Him. It is vitally important for our lives. We are going to walk through 1 John, verse by verse, and see how to have absolute certainty that we belong to Jesus. 1 John is going to encourage us, help us grow spiritually, challenge us, and also reveal things that need to change. Its main theme is having fellowship, or a deep relationship, with the Living God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Fighter Verse:  1 John 5:13 – I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life

What’s Happening?

WOMEN’S MONTHLY PRAYER MEETING | FEB 7

Join our Lakes Women on the first Saturday of each month on the 2nd floor, as we come together for a powerful time in praise, prayer and intercession as we seek God’s heart. Come and be a part of what God is doing through prayer!

“Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me and I will hear you.” Jeremiah 29:12

BAPTISM | FEB 8

Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.

We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!

GRANDPARENT GROUP | FEB 8

Our Grandparent Group meets twice a month to encourage and equip grandparents in their faith and family influence. One Sunday each month will focus on stand-alone topics of faith-based teaching and discussion, designed to strengthen your walk with God and your role as a spiritual leader. The other Sunday will be dedicated to intentional prayer for our families and grandchildren, lifting up the next generations together. Join us in the upper-level large group room at 1pm and be part of this meaningful time of learning, prayer, and community.

Sunday Feb 8 at 1pm in the upper level room 209

CHAT-A-LATTE’ | FEB 14

All Lakes Women are welcome and encouraged to attend our Chat-a-latte from 9:30-11:00am in the atrium. Bring a friend, and come relax, drink coffee (or tea), enjoy one another’s company, and get to know some new people!

Q&A | FEB 15

Stick around after the third service on the first Sunday of each month for a Q&A time with Pastor Mark. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the message, faith, or anything you’ve been wondering about. Pastor Mark will take time to share insights, dive a little deeper into Scripture, and have real conversations about life and faith. Don’t miss this chance to connect, learn, and grow together!
