February 23 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 12:9-13, Part 48: You Can’t Fake Genuine Love – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: When Jesus Christ becomes the Lord of your life, He changes everything. He saves us from the penalty of sin but also the power of sin. This means that our lives are being transformed day by day. In this section of Romans, it shows us the marks of a true Christian. One of the things that followers of Jesus are to be known for is their love. There are a lot of things that can be faked in life, but one of them you can’t fake is genuine love. When we know Christ, the Lord produces in us many things but the chief one being love. This week, we are going to see how to let our love be genuine in all of life.
Fighter Verse: Romans 12:9 – Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

FRIDAY FUN NIGHT – 2/28
Dress for warm weather, because it’s gonna be a WINTER LUAU at The Lakes! We’ll be eating pulled pork, playing an array of Hawaiian/Polynesian games, fun crafts, and more. Open to those in Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

We live in a society where we need to fight the daily battles of being strong in the Lord. Come join us on March 8th for a day of learning how to be resilient in the Lord by wearing the armor of God.

ANNUAL FAMILY MEETING – 3/9
Join us for our Annual Family Meeting. If you call The Lakes Church your home, we would love for you to join us for our Family Meeting on March 9th, 2025 at 12:30pm. We look forward to recapping all that God has done in our church over the past year, as well as giving our church family a glimpse of what we hope is to come over the next year.
OUTREACH MINISTRY – 4/5
The Lakes Church Outreach Ministry will be hosting an easter egg hunt for our neighboring community, Whispering Woods, on April 5th. We need your help – collecting easter eggs! We will have a table in the atrium for you to drop off donations (pre-stuffed plastic eggs, empty plastic eggs, candy to fill empty eggs).

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Look around you right now. In our culture today (from music, to movies, to ads, to social media), there are almost endless definitions of what love is. This week, we’re gonna jump ahead to Corinthians to look at how God is more than just loving. HE IS LOVE! He is the literal definition of love that everyone is searching for!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

Friday Fun Night | Feb 28, 6-9pm
WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
