February 22 | 1 John – Part 3: The Tests of True Faith, 1 John 1:5-10 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: Throughout the book of 1 John, we are presented many tests. These tests are incredible blessings because they show us where we are in our relationship with the Lord. They also reveal things about us and our beliefs that might need to change. They challenge and encourage us to change and experience God’s grace afresh and anew. Right as the book starts, we are presented with a bunch of successive ones that deal with sin and our choices. Now that we know Jesus and belong to God, we can experience His forgiveness and freedom from bondage. This Sunday, we are going to look at how to do that in our daily lives.
Fighter Verse: 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

THEOLOGY REFRESH | FEB 21
Join us for Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class at 10am designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.
ANNUAL FAMILY MEETING | MARCH 1
Join us for our Annual Family Meeting. If you call The Lakes Church your home, we would love for you to join us for our Family Meeting on March 1st, 2026 at 12:30pm. We look forward to recapping all that God has done in our church over the past year, as well as giving our church family a glimpse of what we hope is to come over the next year.
WOMEN’S CONFERENCE | MARCH 7
Every day, we are influenced by the world’s wisdom. Join us for a day focused on learning the difference between God’s wisdom and the wisdom of the world. Come gather with other women on March 7th to be encouraged, grow in your faith, and strengthen one another in your walk with the Lord. The day will include Worship, a message, break-out discussion groups, and lunch. The cost is only $30 per attendee, Ages 16+.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
In the Book of Acts, we see the early church living in fellowship and in concern for one another. They were generous to each other to honor God. However, some people still struggled with their unselfish virtues and didn’t put trust in the good works God had prepared for them.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.

MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP – Middle School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP – High School students meet on Sundays from 6:30-8:30pm in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.

OUR WEEKLY SERVICE is centered around music, prayer, Bible stories and simple life lessons. All ages and abilities are welcome to come and be free to be themselves while actively participating as a contributing member of an inclusive and loving faith community at The Lakes Church.
