February 15 | 1 John – Part 2: Knowing God, 1 John 1:1-4 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: A pastor named AW Tozer once said, ““What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us” This is so true. The book of 1 John is all about knowing God. Knowing God as our Father. Knowing Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Knowing the Holy Spirit as our Helper. It is so essential and vital that we really know that we know God. There is too much at stake for our lives, families and community to leave any of these things in doubt. The book of 1 John starts with this amazing reality that God has manifested everything we need for life and godliness in Jesus Christ. We are going to see what it means to know God, not just know about Him.

CHAT-A-LATTE’ | FEB 14
All Lakes Women are welcome and encouraged to attend our Chat-a-latte from 9:30-11:00am in the atrium. Bring a friend, and come relax, drink coffee (or tea), enjoy one another’s company, and get to know some new people!
Q&A | FEB 15
Stick around after the third service on the first Sunday of each month for a Q&A time with Pastor Mark. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the message, faith, or anything you’ve been wondering about. Pastor Mark will take time to share insights, dive a little deeper into Scripture, and have real conversations about life and faith. Don’t miss this chance to connect, learn, and grow together!
THEOLOGY REFRESH | FEB 21
Join us for Theology Refresh—a once-a-month Saturday class at 10am designed to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and strengthen your faith. Each month, we’ll explore a different theological topic in a way that’s both engaging and accessible, whether you’re new to the faith or have been walking with Jesus for years. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and be refreshed in your knowledge of who God is and what He has done.
ANNUAL FAMILY MEETING | MARCH 1
Join us for our Annual Family Meeting. If you call The Lakes Church your home, we would love for you to join us for our Family Meeting on March 1st, 2026 at 12:30pm. We look forward to recapping all that God has done in our church over the past year, as well as giving our church family a glimpse of what we hope is to come over the next year.
WOMEN’S CONFERENCE | MARCH 7
Every day, we are influenced by the world’s wisdom. Join us for a day focused on learning the difference between God’s wisdom and the wisdom of the world. Come gather with other women on March 7th to be encouraged, grow in your faith, and strengthen one another in your walk with the Lord. The day will include Worship, a message, break-out discussion groups, and lunch. The cost is only $30 per attendee, Ages 16+.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
Despite everything coming against him, Peter relied upon the power of the Holy Spirit to boldly proclaim the gospel to anyone that would listen. The Holy Spirit helped him in doing nothing but declaring Jesus as Lord and Savior.
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.

MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP – Middle School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP – High School students meet on Sundays from 6:30-8:30pm in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm.
