February 1 | AI, Identity and What it Means to be Human? – Abdu Murray
Synopsis: This Sunday, we have a special guest, Abdu Murray, sharing God’s Word. His message will be on what it really means to be human in an age of AI and identity confusion. Our culture sends mixed messages—treating us as both machines and self‑made gods—are fueling anxiety and distorting our understanding of personhood. Abdu will show why neither AI‑driven visions of transcendence nor self‑constructed identities can deliver the dignity and purpose we long for. The Bible’s surprising relevance to today’s questions reveals how the Imago Dei offers a far more hopeful and grounded vision of humanity. Ultimately, we will rediscover our worth and purpose in the God who made us—and in Jesus, the true image who restores what we’ve lost.

TRANSFORMATION | FEB 2
Transformation Ministry is a spiritual healing ministry of The Lakes Church designed to help believers grow deeper in their relationship with God by “getting comfortable at the foot of the cross.” This ministry is for anyone who feels stuck or stalled spiritually, is facing roadblocks that seem to stand between them and God, or is seeking deeper connection with their Savior and with other believers. Through honest conversation, prayer, and Christ-centered encouragement, we create space for healing, growth, and renewal.
Transformation Ministry meets Monday nights from 7:00–8:30pm in the upper level beginning Feb 2.

BAPTISM | FEB 8
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
The apostle Peter’s life was one of Scripture’s greatest examples of discipleship. Though he had personally journeyed for three years alongside Jesus, Peter struggled with fear, hesitancy, and uncertainty. However, the Peter we find in Act 2 seems to have overcome these stumbling blocks in his faith. But how? It was through the power of the Holy Spirit at work in his life!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.

Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
