December 7 | Job, Let God Be God – Part 14: When God Questions You, Job 38-41 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: Throughout the book of Job, everyone expresses their opinions. There are also a lot of questions directed to God as well. As the book is coming to a close the Lord shows up and speaks. Instead of answering Job’s questions, the Lord asks His own. He questions Job seventy-seven times. These are given to Job to show just how limited his understanding is compared to God’s greatness. It seems that we all have our questions for God, but God has His questions for us. When we stop and consider the vastness, wisdom, glory, power, and love of God it puts everything in perspective.
Fighter Verse: Job 38:1-3 – Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: 2 “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? 3 Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me.

ADOPT-A-FAMILY | DEC 7
If you adopted a family or individual for our Christmas Adopt-A-Family, please remember that all gifts are due back by December 7. You can drop them off in the atrium when you come to church on Sunday. And if you’d still like to get involved, stop by the Outreach table in the atrium— we still have opportunities to get involved!
SHINE CRAFT TABLE | DEC 7
It’s that time of year again! Our SHINE Special Needs Ministry will have a table in the atrium on Sunday December 7 at all services, featuring handmade crafts! Stop by, show your support, and pick up something special!
COUNTRY CHRISTMAS PARTY | DEC 12
The Lakes Ole West Christmas Jamboree on December 12 — here for one night only! This fun, family-friendly Christmas show features country songs rewritten with a fresh and creative twist to tell the Christmas story like you’ve never seen or heard it before. It’s the perfect night to invite friends, family, and neighbors as we laugh, worship, and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas together. You won’t want to miss it!
BAPTISM | DEC 14
Baptism is the natural next step once we are saved! It represents the new life that Jesus’ resurrection gives us and is a public sign of our faith in Christ. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, we invite you to take this opportunity to demonstrate your faith in Christ.
We will have an opportunity to get baptized during all services on this Sunday. Please fill out this form to let me know you are interested in getting baptized!
SCOTLAND UPDATE | DEC 18
Join us on Thursday, December 18 at 6:30pm for A Wee Blether, Biscuit, and Tea in the lower level of the church—an evening with our Scottish missionary, Laure McAlpine. Come hear updates about her ministry in Scotland, the work God is doing, and the many blessings she’s excited to share. Let us know you’re coming, and we’ll save you a seat!
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES | DEC 24
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we invite you to join us in embracing the warmth and meaning of this season. We will have four services: 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and a 10pm candlelight service.
We’re asking everyone to register for the Christmas Eve service you plan to attend — not as a ticket, but simply to help us get a good idea of how full each service will be since our worship center has limited capacity. Only those who will be sitting in the worship center need to be counted in your RSVP. Children’s Church will be available for birth through age 4, so you don’t need to include these little ones in your registration.
You don’t need to show your reservation when you arrive; this just helps us make space for everyone and ensures a great experience for all!
ROOTED | JAN 8
Rooted is designed for all people but especially new people to the church, new Christians, and those who are looking for a refresh to their spiritual lives. This is a 10-week study of the foundational aspects of the Christian faith.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
After His resurrection, Jesus brought the eleven disciples together to receive their instruction for their lives. God’s overall plan for His creation has always been that people would know Him and lead others to know Him, too. This week Jesus revealed the plan for them to fulfill the Great Commission!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.
