December 21 | Job, Let God Be God – Part 15: Everything Will Work Out, Job 42 – Pastor Mark Pospisil

Synopsis: Our journey through the book of Job is coming to the end. We have spent the last 15 weeks walking through this book. Job was an amazing man of God who went through some incredibly hard trials and sufferings. The Lord was faithful through all of this, though. After the Lord revealed Himself to Job and spoke, we come to the last chapter. Here we see Job’s response and God’s restoration. Job gets back double everything he lost. He is completely restored and renewed spiritually, physically, and relationally. There is so much for our faith knowing that Job’s reversal from suffering to triumph points to the complete restoration that Jesus will one day bring. Job ultimately points us to Jesus and we will see how to move tragedy to triumph through the gospel.

Fighter Verse: Job 42:10 – And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

What’s Happening?

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES | DEC 24

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we invite you to join us in embracing the warmth and meaning of this season. We will have four services: 12pm, 2pm, 4pm and a 10pm candlelight service.

We’re asking everyone to register for the Christmas Eve service you plan to attend — not as a ticket, but simply to help us get a good idea of how full each service will be since our worship center has limited capacity. Only those who will be sitting in the worship center need to be counted in your RSVP. Children’s Church will be available for birth through age 4, so you don’t need to include these little ones in your registration.

You don’t need to show your reservation when you arrive; this just helps us make space for everyone and ensures a great experience for all!

Rooted is designed for all people but especially new people to the church, new Christians, and those who are looking for a refresh to their spiritual lives. This is a 10-week study of the foundational aspects of the Christian faith.

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY | JAN 20

Change Your Money, Change Your Life. Apply God’s Word to your finances through practical, Biblical steps to help eliminate your debt, manage your money and spend and save wisely!

This 9-week course, facilitated by Eric & Nichole Husa, will be held Tuesday evenings in room 209 in the Upper Level of The Lakes Church from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. The cost is $80 per individual/couple.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update

After His resurrection, Jesus brought the eleven disciples together to receive their instruction for their lives. God’s overall plan for His creation has always been that people would know Him and lead others to know Him, too. This week Jesus revealed the plan for them to fulfill the Great Commission!

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.

ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.

MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP – Middle School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).

MONDAY NIGHT YOUNG ADULT GROUP –Looking for community, purpose, and real connection? Join our Young Adult Ministry—a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and navigate life together. Whether you’re in college, starting your career, or figuring things out—we’ve got a seat for you! Ages 18 (post high school) through 29, join us on Mondays from 7:00-9:00pm. We meet weekly at Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot). Email Ministry leader Dave Borowicz with any questions.
