November 16 | Job, Let God Be God – Part 11: The Hope of the Resurrection, Job 19 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: How we know and understand the Lord is one of the most important things for our lives. AW Tozer, an incredible pastor, once said, “What comes to your mind when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” We see this throughout the book of Job. It is filled with faith, tension, hope, frustrations, questions, and confidence. Job is going through a horrendous amount of physical, emotional, relational and spiritual pain. In the midst of it, he makes some weighty and profound statements of faith that shaped his life and helped him in his darkest hours. He declares in the midst of his confusion the hope of the resurrection in Job 19:25. This is incredible for many reasons that we are going to unpack this week. Jesus’ resurrection and the hope that He gives us is the cornerstone of our faith and changes everything.
Fighter Verse: Job 19:25-26 – For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God,

What’s Happening?
21 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING
Matthew 6:9-10 – Pray then like this, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Praise God that we are beginning our 21 Days of Prayer with our hearts becoming aligned with God’s for His Kingdom to come. One of our Core Values at The Lakes is the Power of Prayer. We really believe that prayer changes things. I want to encourage all of us to commit to these 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. We have a devotional for every day and this year is something special, I asked some of our ministry leaders and others in our church to write many of the devotionals. This is literally The Lakes Church as a whole prayer guide.
I encourage you to engage every day whether that is by yourself, with your spouse or whole family, or with friends. Each day includes a Scripture reference, a short devotional, and a prayer point. We are seeking God as a whole church for the next 21 days and we are going to watch the Lord do immeasurably more than we can ask or even think! Pick up a booklet at the Welcome Desk this Sunday.
