October 5 | Job, Let God Be God – Part 5: Why God? Questions We are Afraid to Ask, Job 3 – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: There is a shift in the book of Job that happens. For the next 40 chapters it is going to be discourses or “speeches” from Job, his friends, and eventually God Himself. Job starts his first main discourse a broken man with many questions. There are many reasons we can face trials and hardships in life. The problem that comes up in Job is not necessarily the trials he is going through instead it’s the why. Why God is this happening to me? Six times Job asks, “why,” in this chapter 3. He even states that it would have been better for him if he was not born in Job:11, “Why did I not die at birth, come out from the womb and expire?” We are going to look at the questions we are afraid to ask.
Fighter Verse: Job 3:1-3 – After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. 2 And Job said: 3 “Let the day perish on which I was born, and the night that said, ‘A man is conceived.’
