November 2 | Job, Let God Be God – Part 9: Anguish, The Three Fools and Their Folly – Pastor Mark Pospisil
Synopsis: There are a lot of famous trios in the world. Whether that is in history, entertainment, government or sports. One of the most infamous, though, are Job’s three friends. Their names are Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. They start off as good friends who come to sympathize, support, and sit in silence with Job. The problem comes when they open their mouths! All three of them hold onto some very unhelpful and unbiblical ideas. They cause more harm than good by offering misguided counsel, terrible advice, bad teaching, and false accusations. We are going to look at where they went wrong in the book of Job because we can subtly and mistakenly believe the same things that they did. The Lord has given us everything we need to respond rightly to suffering with His wisdom, power, and grace.
Fighter Verse: Job 42:7 – After the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “My anger burns against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.

WOMEN’S PRAYER MEETING | OCT 31
Lakes Women – Join us on the first Saturday of each month on the 2nd floor at 9:30am, as we come together for a powerful time in praise, prayer and intercession as we seek God’s heart. Come and be a part of what God is doing through prayer!

21 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING | NOV 3
Matthew 6:9-10 – Pray then like this, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Praise God that we are beginning our 21 Days of Prayer with our hearts becoming aligned with God’s for His Kingdom to come. One of our Core Values at The Lakes is the Power of Prayer. We really believe that prayer changes things. I want to encourage all of us to commit to these 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. We have a devotional for every day and this year is something special, I asked some of our ministry leaders and others in our church to write many of the devotionals. This is literally The Lakes Church as a whole prayer guide.
I encourage you to engage every day whether that is by yourself, with your spouse or whole family, or with friends. Each day includes a Scripture reference, a short devotional, and a prayer point. We are seeking God as a whole church for the next 21 days and we are going to watch the Lord do immeasurably more than we can ask or even think! Pick up a booklet at the Welcome Desk this Sunday.
WORSHIP NIGHT | NOV 2
Join us on Sunday, November 2, for a powerful Worship Night as we kick off our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. This special evening will feature original music from The Lakes Worship Team, along with a time of prayer and reflection as we seek God together. Come ready to worship, pray, and prepare your heart for what He wants to do in and through our church during this season of renewal and expectation. You won’t want to miss it!
WOMEN’S CRAFT NIGHT | NOV 14
Women of The Lakes Church!
Join us for our Annual Craft Night on Thursday, November 14 at 6:30pm. This year we’ll be getting creative with two fun projects — cookie decorating with Kelli Hawkins and bejeweled bookmarks with KO Osborne. Bring a snack to share, come ready to laugh, connect, and enjoy a night of creativity and fun! Cost of the event is $20 and space is limited to 50 participants, so please register by November 7 to save your spot!
WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS DINNER | DEC 7
The Lakes Women are thrilled to invite you to their annual Women’s Christmas Dinner on December 7th. This year, we’ll be gathering at Bay Pointe Golf Club (4001 Haggerty Road, West Bloomfield 48323), with doors opening at 5:00 p.m.
Enjoy a festive evening filled with worship and a special message centered on “The Unexpected Gift.” It’s a wonderful opportunity to prepare our hearts and celebrate the birth of our Savior together.

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!
INFANT AND TODDLER STORYTIME – Looking for a Christ-centered way to break up your day, and get to meet other Moms with Littles? Come check out The Lakes Children Infant & Toddler Story Time. Ages 4 and under. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 10am-12pm in the upper level of the church.
