October 27 | Romans – Grasping The Gospel, Romans 8:33-34, Part 34: What It Means to Have Jesus Intercede for You – Pastor Mark Pospisil

Synopsis: Jesus is at the right hand of God interceding for us right now. What does that mean? There are so many life changing implications and realities to His intercession for us. He is the one who reconciles us to God. He is the one who removes our guilt. He is the one who protects us from satan’s influence. He is praying for you right now. Listen to Robert Murray M’Cheyne, “If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for me.” We are going to unpack exactly what it means to have Jesus interceding for us and how that encourages and strengthens our faith.

Fighter Verse: Romans 8:34 – “Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”

What’s Happening?

GRACE MARRIAGE | NOVEMBER 1

That’s why the Lakes Church is committed to supporting marriages. Our ministry, Grace Marriage, is our discipleship pathway that equips couples to GROW TOGETHER. When a couple puts their marriage under the grace of Christ and intentionally works on it, it will grow into a more enjoyable and God-glorifying union. Join us at our monthly meetings as we learn together how to grow closer to God and each other and strengthen our marriages.

We will meet on the first Friday of each month from 7-9 PM in Lakes West.

THE LAKES STITCHIN’ SISTERS | OCTOBER 28

Join us for a time of crafting, sewing and quilting. All skill levels are welcome! We will be creating comfort & love gifts (such as lap quilts, bookmarks for dedications, etc.) to share God’s love with others.

We will get together every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 10-12:30pm.

WOMEN’S PRAYER MEETING – 11/2
Join our Lakes Women on the first Saturday of each month on the 2nd floor, as we come together for a powerful time in praise, prayer and intercession as we seek God’s heart. Come and be a part of what God is doing through prayer!

MEN’S TAILGATE – 11/9
Men of The Lakes, come join our fall football tailgate where we’ll be cooking up some great food and having fun together! This is a good opportunity for you to hang out, meet new friends, deepen relationships, and be encouraged in your walk with Jesus. Please complete the registration here so we can get a count on how many will be attending!
WOMEN’S CRAFT NIGHT – 11/15
Come join us for fun, fellowship and crafts. We will be making three crafts (prayer board, charcuterie cup, and Christmas bells to hand on a door). Bring your friends and have a great time just being with other women in the church as you create together. The cost for materials and to participate is only $30.

Core Ministries – Weekly Update

The entire Book of Esther in one week??? Gulp… We’re gonna try it, but I would encourage you to bring your child both Sunday AND Wednesday since we have a lot to cover! Mordecai’s faithfulness! Haman’s wickedness! Queen Esther’s presence! And God’s plan through it all!

EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.

ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
