January 5 | James 1:13-15, Staying Out Of The Cooler – Pastor Chris Clark
Synopsis: Starting off on the right foot in following Jesus in 2025 might be frustrating and discouraging for some of us, thanks in large part to the ongoing battle with sin. That battle makes it so hard to get traction! Everyone faces temptation; it’s what we do in response to that temptation that will make the difference. James provides us with some valuable truths in James 1:13-15 in helping us to better understand what is happening when we face temptation, using words that paint a vivid picture for us that make the truth clearer. We will take a closer look at these truths, as well as what to do when we stumble and fall to our temptation.
Fighter Verse: 1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Come join us for a fun night of fellowship with The Lakes Women. Come play Bunco whether you are experienced or have never played. Bring a small appetizer or a dessert to share. We look forward to seeing you on January 10th from 6:30-8:30pm!
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY | JANUARY 23
Join us for our Bible Study – The Names of God. This will be a 6-week study on Thursdays beginning January 23rd. We will have a morning (10:00-12:00pm) and evening (6:30-8:30pm) study that are going through the same book. Cost is $12

Core Ministries – Weekly Update
What perfect timing! Our 3 year study through the Bible shifts, just after Christmas, into the New Testament and the birth of Jesus Christ! This week, we look into the role Simeon and Anna and their faithful devotion to God played during Jesus’ dedication!
EARLY CHILDHOOD – Early Childhood (Birth – Kindergarten) program available during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday services.
ELEMENTARY AGE (1st-5th grade) – Elementary age program available Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:15 services and Wednesday Kids Creek from 6:30-8pm during the school year!

WEDNESDAY YOUTH GROUP – Middle School and High School students meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm for a combined youth group service in Lakes West (7150 Cooley Lake Rd, shared upper parking lot).
